Teachers Memberships and Site Licenses

Site Licenses are built with Teacher Memberships, so whether you are an individual Teacher/Catechist/Youth Leader who purchased your own membership OR you work or volunteer within a school or parish community with a Site License, your membership comes with 2 Scorekeepers: 1 Personal CQ-IQ Scorekeeper for you and 1 Classroom Scorekeeper for your students/youth. Link to both Scorekeepers from your MyCQ page.

Teacher Scorekeeper

Click on Scorekeeper from your MyCQ page, to go directly to your Personal Scorekeeper with robust scoring for tracking CQ-IQ points across all Knowledge Categories and Challenge Levels. Use your personal user name and password for play that tracks CQ-IQ points to your personal scorekeeper. Great for planning activities, lesson plans, etc.

Classroom Scorekeeper

Click on Scorekeeper from you MyCQ page. From the sub-navigation just above the Scorekeeper data, click Class 1 for the Classroom Scorekeeper.The Classroom Scorekeeper tracks aggregate CQ-IQ points for your students/youth as well as 6 sortable categories of individual student/youth data (games played, time played, Q+A asked, Q+A answered correctly, percent correct and total CQ-IQ points). The aggregate tracking is as robust as the Personal Scorekeeper, and combines all student/youth achievement. Use student/youth user names and passwords to track CQ-IQ points to your Classroom Scorekeeper. Login>> MyCQ>> Scorekeeper>> Class 1 (name your Classroom Scorekeeper on your MyAccount page)

Registering Students/Youth

Near the bottom of the Classroom Scorekeeper, you'll find +Add a Student. Use this link to register each student/youth in your class/group. Student/youth registration takes just a few seconds. You will need to choose a user name (first names are OK) and the site will select a Password for you. You will have the option to print this information (makes it easy to distribute) and continue. If your students/youth ever forget their user name or password, you may reprint this information for them by selecting Edit adjacent to their name on the Classroom Scorekeeper. You may register up to 35 students/youth.

Student data is sortable for quick and useful information: Who is playing the most games? Who has the highest % correct? Who has the highest CQ-IQ? Unused Student/Youth slots on the Scorekeeper? See Tips for Use in Groups.

Student/Youth Access to Scorekeeper

Students/Youth login using their user name, password and the teacher/leader's last name. When they view the Scorekeeper, they see aggregate data for the entire class/group and just their own personal data. They do not see individual data for anyone else.

Family Memberships

Family Memberships come with a Family Scorekeeper that tracks individual CQ-IQ points and aggregate data for CQ-IQ points for the entire family. Every family member has full access to all Scorekeeper data. The account administrator (whomever purchased the membership) will automatically be registered on the Scorekeeper. Add up to 7 additional family members in seconds by using the +Add a Member button near the bottom of the Scorekeeper. You will need to choose a user name (first names are OK) and the site will select a Password for you. You will have the option to print this information. If anyone forgets a password, select Edit adjacent to their name on the Family Scorekeeper for a fast reminder. Family Members login using their user name, password and your family's last name.

Family data is sortable for quick and useful information: Who is playing the most games? Who has the highest % correct? Who has the highest CQ-IQ?

Parish Memberships

Parish Memberships allow full access to all members of a parish community. Any number of parishioners can play at once using the same username and password. The Parish Scorekeeper does all the work tracking aggregate results so effectively, you can almost watch the learning taking place! Encourage parishioners to play anywhere: at home, during Faith Formation activities, on the go with their iPhone/iTouch/iPad... Organize special parish events and start celebrating your growing faith knowledge.

Classrooms and Groups - Great for Teachers, Catechists and Parish Leaders

With a Classroom Scorekeeper and a few unused student space, you can create standing teams for easy use in groups. Track all student/youth play to the Classroom Scorekeeper by registering sub-groups/teams.

Organize 2 or 4 Standing Teams

If you have space available on your Classroom Scorekeeper (remember you have up to 35 spaces), you can create standing teams for small group play in the classroom or with parish groups. Identify sub-groups like Cardinals and Saints or Matthew, Mark, Luke and John; and register using a student space. Keep an easy-to-find record user names and passwords near your classroom computer. Randomly assign each person to a group. Example: register sub-groups with first name CARDINALS or ANGELS and last name SUB-GROUP.

Organize for Full Classroom or Group Play

Use a student space on your Classroom Scorekeeper for Full Classroom or Group Play. Identify a name and register it. Keep a record of user names and passwords near your classroom computer. Use this when the entire group enjoys open play and capture CQ-IQ to build the group total. Example: register for full group play with first name OPEN PLAY and last name FULL GROUP.

Open Play

Project onto a large screen or monitor. Login as OPEN PLAY. Allow informal response by the group or randomly call on students/youth to answer questions. Tough question? Invite players to confer with a classmate. Great for warm-up or discussion starters.

Friendly Competition in Small Groups

Project onto a large screen or monitor. Login as a sub-group (see above for registering sub-groups). Select a game and click Multiplayer from the Game Settings page. Login a second sub-group to play when prompted to sign in the 2nd player.

One-on-One in the Classroom

With a classroom computer or laptop, individual students/youth can login and play alone or with a parent volunteer. Select a game and click Single or Multiplayer from the Game Settings page. Parent volunteers can sign-in as a guest when prompted to sign in the 2nd player.

How do I pick the right Challenge Level?

Level 1: kindergarten and 1st grade plus younger 2nd graders
Level 2: up to 5th grade reading skills may be required
Level 3: up to 8th grade reading skills may be required
Level 4: high school reading skills may be required

How many questions are in each game?

Most games have 10 Q+A when playing alone and 20 Q+A with two players or teams.
Survival has 20 Q+A and is for single players only.
Race the Clock is a 2-minute game for single players only.

Will I get repeat questions?

The site keeps track of which questions you have seen and will exhaust a Knowledge Category in a specific Challenge Level before ever showing you a repeat question. However, when you are signed in as a guest, playing with a friend or classmate, the questions are tracked for the primary player, but not for the guest. Under this circumstance, you may see repeat questions because it will be predicated on the Q+A record of the primary player.

Is every game a race?

Race the Clock is the only true "race," although the clock shows on all games. See below for tie games.

Can I change my answer?

Sorry! Once you have selected an answer, you will immediately go to the answer screen. Play often and you will eventually see the question again. You'll get it next time!

Are all the Q+A in English and Spanish?

At this time, the majority of Q+A are available in Spanish. Church History and Lives of the Saints are currently available in English only.

What does "Imp" mean when found as a superscript at the end of a question?

"Imp" is an abbreviation for Imprimatur and signifies Church approval for the Q+A.

Why is there a magnifying glass on the screen?

The magnifying glass links you to reference information for the specific question. Click on the magnifying glass or the reference text and you will go directly to a new browser window. Click-to-view references take you to the paragraph of the Catechism, chapter and verse of the New American Bible or additional reference information found on, etc.

How do I return to the game if I click to see the reference?

Close the browser window of the reference information and you will return to the game screen. Do not use the back button.

How many CQ-IQ points can I earn in one game?

A completed game earns 5 CQ-IQ game points and each correct answer earns 1 additional point.

Who wins if there is a tie?

In a multiplayer game, when both players or teams answer the same number of questions correctly, the player or team who answers in the least amount of time is named the winner.

How do I exit before the game is over?

Simply click the upper right button, Exit to MyCQ. From there, you can choose a new game, another feature or choose to logout.

If you are a visitor playing The Saints Are Coming! you can click on the logo and return to the homepage.

What if I stop playing in the middle of a game?

If, at any time, you step away in the middle of a game, the question screen will time-out after one minute. This question will show up as one that you missed during a review (either Review All or Oops! What did I miss?) and you will not receive a point.

How can I view my choices after the game is over?

The end game screen has options for printing a certificate, playing a new game, etc. One option is Review All – select this to review all Q+A in the game. Another option is Oops! What did I miss? Select this to review only those questions you did not answer correctly. When I play Level 1 Q+A on games like Race the Clock and Open Wide the Gates, I seem to get repeat questions. This doesn't seem to happen on other games or with other Challenge Levels.

What does it mean?

The Level 1 Q+A is developed for optimum play on Quizzle Me too!. When you choose Level 1 Q+A by Knowledge Category, you are more likely to complete an entire category of Q+A. Once this occurs, specific questions will repeat. The best way to play Race the Clock and Open Wide the Gates for Level 1 is to select three Knowledge Categories or consider playing Level 1 and Level 2 combined.

Let's Get Started!

With your new membership to, you are able to offer your students a tool that will build religious vocabulary and faith knowledge in a fun, interactive, and measurable way.

We will guide you through the many options for using Some catechists will have the ability to play in a classroom setting. But, everyone should encourage students to play at home. We will recommend different games for different grade levels and provide ideas for use. Pairing other learning activities with online play can really help students connect with their faith and we'll offer some tips for this as well - even if online play must occur away from the classroom.

Role of the Catechist

You can help by exploring the site fully, experimenting with game options and features, and promoting the involvement of family members in at-home play... no matter what grade level you teach. Your most important role in making this pilot a success will be to encourage and reward your students for play. You know your students best... 1 game a day, 10 games a week, 15 minutes over the weekend, you get to choose. We will provide lots of ideas and support.

The pilot will be divided into three phases.

Phase I: Exploration

February 1 to March 8

Explore games, features, knowledge categories, challenge levels and scorekeeping

Phase II: Friendly Competition

March 8 to April 24

AMS Lenten Challenge!

Phase III: Mystagogia

April 25 to June 12

Catechist Choice: sacramental preparation, in-depth exploration, liturgy preparation, Classroom Challenge...

A few more details:

The purpose of Phase I is for students to be introduced to the site and to get comfortable navigating between games, choosing knowledge categories and challenge levels, and reading the CQ-IQ Scorekeeper to understand personal and group achievement. This is a time to build confidence and interest in the website as a friendly learning tool. Everyone starts at Level 1!

Scoring is a measure of how many games are played, how many questions are answered correctly and what categories or themes are more familiar than others. Students who score at a level of 80% correct in any given knowledge area and level indicates that the student is ready to try the next level.

Scores between 60% and 80% correct indicate that the student might want to continue to play at this level to build more knowledge and mastery. Scores under 60% suggest that the level may be too challenging and students should try a lower level first before progressing to the next level. For the youngest learner in Level 1, a family member might play alongside and assist with exploration and reading.

Select two levels or even three at a time to build expertise more gradually and to introduce more challenging material mixed in with what is easier or more familiar. Always the important factor is not the score itself, but the learning that happens as students select correct responses to questions and click through to read more about the answer.
